Music is vibration. In its most fundamental form it existed as quantum oscillations in the quantum field that many scientists believe gave birth to the our universe. It is the language to which all life and in fact all matter respond. Everything has its resonate frequency. This is not esoteric, it is science of which Roger Whipp is a passionate follower.

Born in Nottingham, England and brought up in Birmingham he started playing guitar at 12 years of age with a group of friends which turned into his first group,. "Grey Haggard" whose music was heavily influenced by groups such as Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Free, Cream ...

In the university years, while studying and later as researcher, bio-chemistry and molecule genetics went hand in hand with writing songs and gigging as a performing singer-songwriter in the vibrant folk and blues scene of the "Midlands" and London with a couple of appearances in the concerts at the University of Oxford as part of the acoustic duo Mutley's Boys. Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Dylan ...

Always restless, in the early nineties he left academia and moved to Catalunya, Spain and pursued other career paths, but the music did not stop.

A constant since the mid-nighties has been playing and coordinating at his weekly residencies which include Sunday Night Live - Shamrock Irish Pub (90's) and Live Music Night Sakers (90's) In the new millennium at Dick's Jazz Blues Night (2002 - 2008) , Friday Live at Mes Parroquía (2008 - 2011) and the Acoustic Night at El Sindicat del Vi (2013 - to the present). All of this combined with 100's of solo, duo and gigs with his group Smooth, in and around Catalunya which have included playing for a handful of people in a small town square to playing in front of an audience of 1500 in Barcelona's "Sala Apollo".

In 2008 Whipp recorded his first album with the collaboration of Italian producer Johnny Branchizo.
